makes a very nice backsplash Review by Sharon

I used this tile as a backsplash in a new kitchen The color is actually a little darker than the picture, but was a very nice match for the granite look wilsonart countertop. I used a mosaic tile which picked up the putty, a lighter glass, and the exact granite look of the countertop... I ran that behind the range and in a 5 inch trim around the bottom of the backsplash I laid the putty glass tiles in vertical rows on top of that instead of a brick pattern, which would have been too busy It looked great .
Tips for using this glass tile....It will stick to anything. If you misplace it, you can only get it up by breaking it. I laid this tile over smooth ceramic tile, which had been on these walls for 34 years. It could NOT be taken down without the wall coming with it. It was recommended that I prime or scratch up the tiles. I tried some primer on a couple square feet without scratching the tile... it was too time consuming and messy. I laid the glass tile over the unprimed old ceramic on the rest of the kitchen. It stuck EQuALLY as well with or without primer. The ONLY prep I did to the ceramic tile was to rub it down vigorously with isopropyl alcohol to clean it. The Aspect glass tile cut VERY easily with a small $80 diamond tile wet saw... a cinch to use...no waste, the tiles cut easily.
The matching trim pieces have the same stick power as the tile.....you can't get them off if you goof up... they are HARD to use. I ended up having Home Depot match a paint to the putty and put up a different more attractive trim. The paint was an EXACT match to the putty tile. All they did was put the tile in the machine...!
The colors in the photo are a little off.... the match is much better !! My family is awestruck with the way the kitchen looks. and they cannot believe I tiled it myself.. I am 81 year old female. Hurrah....and I save $500 labor charges. (Posted on 3/14/2018)
